2024 FALL & WINTER TOURS


​ AMERICAN QUILTERS SOCIETY QUILT SHOW
LANCASTER COUNTY, PA
SEPTEMBER 10 - 13 $695 pp dbl  /  single $898
“Attention Quilters” this year’s AQS quilt show will be a fun and educational experience, located in the heart of Pennsylvania Amish Country. Expect a wide variety of unique quilts, fabrics, and accessories to be on display and available to purchase. You will have lots of time to stroll the exhibits at the convention center, enjoy the All-Star Review, and discover some interesting new techniques from several quilting experts. You’ll also have a chance to visit with other quilters, view the beautiful Pennsylvania countryside, and enjoy some great Amish cooking. 
Day 1: Travel to Manheim, PA. After we check in at the Hampton Inn, we will enjoy dinner at Mick’s Pub (included) known for their wraps, soups and salads.
Day 2: After breakfast (included) we travel to the show to spend the entire day exploring (lunch on your own at show) and enjoy the All Star Review (included) and a pizza party from Mick's Pub afterwards (included).
Day 3: After breakfast (included) we board for “shop hopping” with stops at some of the area fabric and quilt shops. A buffet lunch is included at Miller’s Restaurant, serving Dutch recipes since 1929. There will be time to visit Miller’s quilt shop after lunch. This afternoon, we will return to the Quilt Show for some last minute purchases and the evening presentation (TBD). Dinner tonight is on your own near the hotel.
Day 4: After breakfast (included) we depart for some additional shopping and lunch (on your own) at Kitchen Kettle before departing for home.

S & S Theater, ”Daniel”, Lancaster, PA
September 11 - 13  & October 16 - 18    $725 pp dbl / $880 single 
Experience a live production of the life of Daniel. Taken into exile inside the Kingdom of Babylon, Daniel faces trial from the fiery furnace to the infamous den of lions. Don’t miss your chance to witness one of the bible’s most hope filled stories. We will also enjoy a musical at the Dutch Apple Theater, the unique talent of Eva Hurst Chalk Talk, dinner at Paradise Station, and a guided tour of Pennsylvania ‘s Amish countryside.
Day 1: We begin this exciting trip with travel to Lancaster, PA and check-in at the DoubleTree Hotel, Lancaster, PA. Then we’re off to dinner at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater, for a delicious meal, while enjoying the presentation of “RagTime” the musical. (included)
Day 2: After breakfast (included) we travel to Elva Hurst Chalk Talk, a creative combination of artistry and entertainment. Lunch is on your own at the Kitchen Kettle, before traveling to the Sight & Sound Theater for the production of Daniel, an inspiring and spectacular enactment of one of the Bible’s most hope-filled stories. Dinner tonight is at the Paradise Barn, a beautiful Amish built barn turned into a unique restaurant.
Day 3: After breakfast (included) we board for a guided tour of the Pennsylvania Amish countryside. Following our guided tour we will travel back home to Ohio.

WV TRAINS, ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA
SEPTEMBER 25 - 27 $740 pp dbl / $890 single (9 seats available)
Enjoy the scenery & nostalgia of "riding the rails'' on the steam-powered Cass Scenic Railroad up to the top of the Mountain to Bald Knob. We will ride the "Tygart Flyer'' featuring long mountain grades, an “S” curve tunnel, a high bridge and miles of unspoiled mountain views. We will also visit the Green Bank Telescope, the world's largest radio telescope and a visit to the West Virginia Railroad museum.
Day 1: After a beautiful drive through the WV Mountains, we arrive at Elkins and check in at the Holiday Inn. Then it’s on to enjoy dinner and the Crandall Creek Dinner Show, included
Day 2: A scenic drive takes us to Cass, WV for a visit to the Green Bank Telescope, the largest fully steerable radio telescope in the world. We continue to the Cass RR, for a visit to the Company Store before boarding the train to the top of Bald Knob Mountain. The steam locomotive will chug up the steep mountain grade to the top, where a box lunch is waiting.(included) Dinner and a show tonight are included at the Gandy Dancer Dinner Theater.
Day 3: We will visit the West Virginia Railroad Museum before boarding the Tygart Flyer, a vintage diesel-powered passenger train and view the beautiful scenery as we travel through the WV mountains. Enjoy lunch (included) on the train before we depart for home.

Enjoy a fun filled trip to the Seneca Niagara Casino, within walking distance to the magnificent Niagara Fall. This trip offers plenty of time for gaming at the casino and for touring Niagara Falls at your leisure. 
Day 1: From Ohio we travel through upper Pennsylvania, and up-state New York to Niagara Falls. After check in you will be given a $70 free-play voucher for the slot machines and a $30 voucher for food in the casino restaurant. The evening is yours to enjoy the casino and the falls, at your leisure.
Day 2: Today is yours to explore the casino, the falls, and the town of Niagara Falls, NY.  
Day 3: Today we depart the casino and make a one hour stop at the “Made in America” store for some patriotic shopping and a chance to spend some of your casino winnings. Then we will continue our trip back to Ohio.

Relax and enjoy a lunch cruise on the Cumberland River, aboard the General Jackson paddlewheeler. Also, free time to enjoy the hotel, ride the Delta Flatboat, catch a fountain show, some retail therapy at the Opry Mills Mall or take the shuttle (extra charge) downtown and experience the excitement of Country Music City USA.
Day 1: We travel to Nashville, TN (lunch on your own) and arrive at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel early evening. After check-in, you will have the balance of the day to leisurely explore the hotel and all of its beauty. Dinner tonight is on your own in one of the hotel's fabulous restaurants.  
Day 2: Begin the day with a “quick bites” breakfast (included) before we board for a guided backstage tour of the Grand Ole Opry. This afternoon we are off to enjoy a lunch cruise down the Cumberland River, aboard the General Jackson river boat. We will return to the hotel to freshen up before dinner at the BackStage Grill (included). This evening we take our seats at the Grand Ole Opry for an exciting performance!
Day 3: Start the day with a buffet breakfast (included) before we join our guide for an information filled walking tour of this magnificent hotel. This afternoon, it’s on to enjoy a leisurely ride on Opryland’s Mississippi-style Delta flatboat. The balance of the day is at your leisure to explore the hotel, take the free shuttle to shop at the Opry Mills Mall or for an additional charge, shuttle into downtown Nashville. Join us as we motor south for the Great Smoky Mountains! We travel to Bristol, VA, crowned “The Birthplace of Country Music”. We will visit “The Birthplace of Country Music” Museum in Bristol, and explore artifacts dating back to 1927. Off to Asheville and the Biltmore Estate, for a Christmas tour of the estate and a candle light Christmas dinner in the award winning Biltmore “Stable Cafe”. We will experience a guided tour of Asheville & the Blue Ridge Parkway, with a stop at the Billy Graham Training Center (The Cove) for a guided tour of this beautiful facility. A tour of the “Rhododendron Estate” in Black Mountain, a family estate, farm, and kilns of Rafael Guastavino. Built in the early 1800’s you will be amazed by its history. We continue our adventure in Pigeon Forge at The Inn at Christmas Place, with a two night’s stay at this beautiful hotel. We will have an evening of dinner and entertainment at “Dolly Parton’s Pirates Voyage” show, experience a stage presentation at “Country Tonight”, and enjoy a guided driving tour through the city’s Winterfest Wonders of Lights.  
Day 1: We will travel to Bristol, VA for one night’s stay at the Courtyard by Marriott. After check in, we will enjoy dinner at the Stateline Grill, serving great food since 2002 (included)
Day 2:  After a buffet breakfast (included) we visit the “Birthplace of Country Music” Museum. Brouse artifacts, displays, and special exhibits telling the story of this historic area. Lunch and shopping are on your own in downtown Bristol. We will arrive in the heart of Asheville, NC for two nights at the Hampton Inn. After checking in, enjoy a Candlelight Christmas Dinner (included) in the Biltmore’s Stable Cafe, a beautiful award winning restaurant built in converted stalls. After dinner, (dinner) take a self guided tour of the Biltmore Estate and enjoy the Christmas decorations and entertainment. 
Day 3:  A buffet breakfast is included before we begin a guided tour of the Blue Ridge Parkway & Asheville, NC. A stop at the “Grove Arcade”, Asheville’s historic Art Deco first shopping center for shopping and lunch (on your own). This afternoon, we travel to Billy Graham’s Training Center (the Cove) for a guided tour of this beautiful facility. Visit the Chapel, Prayer Room, Ruth’s Prayer Garden and more. Tonight’s dinner (included) is at The Stone Ridge Tavern, family owned/operated and serving great food since 2004. 
Day 4:  After a buffet breakfast (included) we visit Rafael Guastavino’s “Rhododendron Estate”. Rafael came to NC in the early 1800’s, liking the area he purchased about a thousand acres and built this historic and beautiful estate. Pigeon Forge here we come! Some free time to shop, enjoy the attractions and have lunch (on your own) on “The Island”. We will stay two nights at the “Inn at Christmas Place” and enjoy Dolly Parton’s Pirates Voyage, where we will enjoy a spectacular show and a four course pirate feast!!
Day 5:  After a buffet breakfast (included) we travel with a local guide for a tour through the spectacular Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We’ll stop at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant for a delightful lunch (included), before we arrive for an afternoon show at “Country Tonight”. We will enjoy the Christmas music favorites, talented choreography, and holiday light displays. Dinner tonight is at Harpoon Harry’s, (included) for a wonderful holiday meal. We end our day with a guided driving tour through the city’s annual Winterfest light display; draped with over 5 million lights!  
Day 6:  After breakfast (included) we board for our trip home, lunch and dinner stops on your own.

Stay in 5-star luxury, decorated in holiday splendor, and experience a scrumptious breakfast buffet at this beautiful & historic retreat! Enjoy afternoon tea, historic hotel walking tour (included), or take in one of the many optional activities such as the Bunker Tour. The bunker is carved deep into the mountainside beneath the West Virginia Wing and was an emergency Cold War fallout shelter, once a top-secret U.S. government relocation facility for Congress. Other activities available, some at additional cost: spa, indoor pool, ice skating rink, carriage ride, bowling alley, movie theater, on-site casino, or shopping at their many unique art galleries, shops & much more. For offsite shopping take the Greenbrier shuttle to the Christmas Store or to view the many outdoor Christmas light displays.
Day 1: From Ohio, we travel through the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, stopping for lunch on your own at the well known Tamarack Restaurant, before arriving in White Sulphur Springs for our stay at the magnificent Greenbrier Resort. After check in, you will have time to enjoy the afternoon tea & concert, take in a movie at the theater, or just stroll through the beautiful hotel and grounds decorated for the holidays. Dinner is on your own at the elegant 5-star main dining room or at one of several restaurants located in the hotel. Day 2: Breakfast (included) is in the main dining room. Many say this is the best buffet they have ever experienced. Travel with us to Norfolk, VA, where we will board the Battleship Wisconsin for a tour of this historic American icon and enjoy lunch on board. Next we travel to Doumar’s Ice Cream Company, where we learn the story of Abe Doumar, credited with creating the world’s first ice cream cone; and, we get to experience a Doumar ice cream cone-YUM! Then we’re off to check in at the OceanFront Inn, where all the rooms have an ocean front view. We will have plenty of time to relax and enjoy Virginia Beach. We will also experience an unbelievable driving Christmas light tour.
Day 1:  We travel from Ohio to Richmond, VA, where we will spend the night and enjoy dinner at the Drury Inn & Suites.
Day 2:  After breakfast (included) we will travel to Norfolk and board the historic Battleship Wisconsin for a tour of the ship and lunch (included) in the galley. Off to Doumar’s Ice Cream Company where we will learn how they make their famous ice cream cones and taste a sample. After this sweet treat, we will travel to the OceanFront Inn on Virginia Beach, where we will check in, enjoy dinner (on your own) and relax in our rooms with a beautiful ocean view.  
Day 3:  We meet for breakfast (included) and you have the day to enjoy VA Beach “your way”! Dinner tonight is at Waterman’s Surfside Grill (included), a local favorite for over 40 years. The evening will be a “bright experience” as we take a drive on the boardwalk and through the Virginia Beach Christmas lights.  
Day 4:  Breakfast is included, before we board the bus for our return trip to Ohio.
